Inept Politicians

There was a time when I took it for granted that our politicians were competent. It my have been a naive stance but nonetheless evidence was thin to prove otherwise. Unfortunately with the current Government there is plenty of evidence to demonstrate that they are not only incompetent and inept but they gleefully prove it with a wilfull arrogance. The current fuel panic is a point in case. If, as some believe it was created purely as a smokescreen to divert everyone's attention away from the appalling and self serving decision to make the poor poorer and the rich very much richer by reducing the higher rate of tax or the equally appalling 'cash for access' scandal, it has failed magnificently. Francis Maude is currently waving the flag for Tory incompetence in a spectacular fashion. Firstly advising people to stockpile fuel and when told by an interviewer that this was illegal he tried to bluster his way out of a very tight corner by accusing the interviewer of being 'technically absurd'.It was hilarious. I myself have followed Maude's advice and stockpiled a couple of barrel's full of unleaded  in my shed next to the sticks of dynamite, just below last years unused fireworks. I'm sure there will not be a problem. And if I am ever accused of anything illegal I shall certainly point out to my defense lawyer that he should use the now famous 'technically absurd defense'.

I think the main problem with the current Tories is that they are so used to having everything put on a plate for them that they are not used to being challenged.Whenever they have cocked up before usually nanny says well done and never mind we'll blame one of the servants. They have never had to work or earn anything and this gives them a sense of entitlement that makes them lazy, careless and stupid.Listening to the Prime Minister trying to appeal to the common man in the street by telling the press when he last had a pasty and that it was from the West Cornwall Pasty Company on Leeds railway station is a case in point. Apparently the West Cornwall Pasty Co closed down five years ago so either the PM  gave an answer that he thought would go done well with the public or he must have a bloody good power of recall. I am a bit concerned though, that he may think Leeds is in Cornwall.I'm sure he doesn't.

I think the main problem with this current government, other than they hate anyone that is not off their class, is that they are trying to force through policies first drawn up in the sixth form common rooms at Eton and lesser known Public schools. And, considering the massive advantages they have been handed in life, they are all incredibly mediocre politicians.
