Minister for Wildlife Benyon Not Fit For Purpose

Richard Benyon, the MP for Newbury is yet another Tory millionaire who inherited the majority of his wealth rather than earning it and is currently the minister responsible for the protection of wildlife and biodiversity in the current government.

WHY!!!!!!! is my question. WHY!!!!!

He is a man who appears to brazenly ignore conflicts of interests to the detriment of the nations wildlife and to the benefit of his landowning buddies and game keeping chums. A true Tory. In his Who's Who entry, Benyon, the Minister responsible for wildlife, lists two of his interests as shooting and conservation    That's a bit like a policeman saying that on his day off he likes to do a bit of shop lifting and perhaps the odd burglary every now and then.

  • Keen observers have started to notice that under his tenure, the wildlife part of the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (Defra) has been favouring shooting interests over conservation. For example, in the spring, when Natural England, the Government's wildlife watchdog, was attempting to prosecute the owners of a grouse moor in the Pennines, Walshaw Moor, for damaging protected bogland, Defra – read Mr Benyon – forced it to drop the prosecution.
  • He wishes to implement a policy that will allow buzzards' nests to be destroyed by being blasted with shotguns with the chicks in the nest because they prey on game birds. These are supposedly protected birds of prey.
  •  Benyon, a millionaire landowner who is strongly associated with shooting interests and owns both a pheasant shoot in Berkshire and a Scottish grouse moor, has declined a request from senior MPs to make possession of the poison, carbofuran, a criminal offence – as is the case in Scotland. The effect of his refusal is to make a substance which is particularly deadly to birds of prey, despite it being a banned chemical with no legitimate use whatsoever, still available to any gamekeepers who wish to get rid of raptors illegally when they are perceived to be predating on gamebirds.
  • The Benyon family sold off  sand and gravel that underlies it land to a quarrying company who plan to extract 2m tonnes from an area known as Benyons Enclosure and has been sharply criticised by the local wildlife trust and local councils because of its likely impact on the local wildlife and biodiversity. The site is designated a site of importance for nature conservation and contains pockets of ancient woodland and heathland, which, according to Hampshire Wildlife Trust will be destroyed for ever
And then of course there was the hosepipe ban controversy when he was Minister for Water during the drought. It was discovered that a hosepipe was dispatching gallons of water onto his estate during the ban. He claimed it was turned on by  journalists, they said he was lying. It turned out the pipe was attached to a private borehole so the ban didn't apply, except of course the water still comes from the underground aquifers that supplies all our water.

And finally according to the Daily Mail his estate has been in receipt of £2m in taxpayers money over the last 10 years. In other words Benyon has received £2m in benefits.Or as the Tories would say 'been living a life on benefits'

So in my opinion it is obvious this man is blinded by self interest and lacks poor judgement. He is the Minister for the nations wildlife and is responsible for serving in the nations interests. Not his own interests and a small landowning and game keeping clique.

Sack Him Now !!!!!!!!!!!!

Clueless Prime Minister, Clueless Conservatives.

Let's be honest, Cameron's speech was nothing more than a ra ra speech for the Nazi Party and the middle englanders. The under lining point being, that they haven't got any idea how to turn the economy around, so let's just hope things will get better, and in the meantime we'll just keep punishing the poor and making them poorer. Their main policy is simply Austerity for the majority to feed the never ending greed of the minority!
Cameron had nothing to say, other than banging on,using tired old anecdotes about benefit scroungers which of course, the Nazi's loved. His  performance was lacklustre and the part about his father being a stockbroker and not having any heels made me cringe. At first I thought he was complaining about the lack of steep gradients on his fathers country estate and that, like Belgium, he didn't have any hills. And the bit about spreading privilege was nonsensical. You can't spread privilge to everyone because then it's not privilege. What does he think is going to happen, are we all going to inherit massive wealth from our parents, not have to get a proper job Ever! and be privately educated. I think he must have skinned up before coming on stage. I can't think of any other reason why he would be so out of touch with reality.
Unsurprising that he tried to take credit, a la Boris Johnson, for the Olympics when in truth they had nothing to do with it's success. It was a Labour government that bid for them, it was a Labour government that won them and it was a Labour government that planned and built the infrastructure and put all the plans in place. All the conservatives had to do was sell the tickets (disaster) and arrange the security   (total disater). Mind you I must agree, it was great watching our world class state sponsored athletes succeed on our world class state sponsored broadcaster.
The speech was incredibly defensive, mainly in response to Ed Millibands speech at the Labour conference, but phrases like 'sink or swim' do not instill confidence. I don't think him and his rich Tory mates will be doing much sinking. He admitted that the economy is stagnating but then tried to claim that the jobs market was thriving due to a million extra jobs being created in the private sector. What he doesn't say is that these so-called jobs are zero contract jobs or part time at best which do not provide a living wage and do not help anybody out of poverty. In fact, with the withdrawal of Tax Credits more people are slipping below the poverty line. All these extra jobs is just PR bul***it or just outright lies. Sustainable jobs that people can build futures around are required not some zero contract job trying to sell double glazing or kleeneze products.
Of course the most craven aspect of the speech was when he began lecturing people about hard work and striving as if a man of massive inherited wealth and privilege, who's never had a proper job, would know anything about hard work and striving. He wouldn't recognise hard work and striving if it jumped up and bit him on his waxy doughnutty face.
He didn't mention in his speech the double dip recession, that this government is borrowing more than the labour government did in thirteen years. He didn't mention the tax cut for the wealthy, funded by the sick and the disabled or the million jobless young without a future. He didn't mention gay marriage. He didn't mention the Lib Dems or the coalition. He didn't even mention the two female Police Officers who died serving this country. He was so desperate he had to shoehorn Abu Hamza in to get a round of applause.
The speech was empty except for sentimental schmaltz and only succeeded in  proving that the Nazi party and it's camp followers, have no idea. So all they will do is regress back to hating homosexuals, people on welfare, Europe, immigrants, the working class and the BBC. I'm sure many of them wish, that if only they had been at their prime and living in 1930's Germany. What fun they would have had.

Doing what's right.

Cameron is forever repeating the mantra 'doing what's right'. If a chief whip swears and abuses two Police Officers and calls them plebs as well as attempting to abuse his position by threatening them with the sack then I would have thought that  'doing what's right' would be to summarily dismiss the chief whip. Unfortunately, it would appear  Cameron lives by the principle 'do as I say and not as I do.' Hypocrisy, methinks?

The Chances of a Labour Victory

The chances of a Labour victory at the next election with Ed Milliband as Leader are thin. Although the Tory's are doing their best to confirm to the nation, what most sane people already know, that they are a bunch of arrogant, ideologically driven, incompetent snobs with only their own interests at heart, that was proven by the Chief Whips outburst, people seem to mystfyingly prefer 'old doughnut face' over Miliband.
However, the main stumbling block seems to be Ed Millibands personal standing with the nation. The main objection many people seem to hold against him becoming Prime Minister is that he looks like a nerd. Which when you consider that type of rationale, you realise it is an opinion so high up on the stupid scale that anybody who considers that a large minority of the public are vacuous morons can feel fully justified in holding that opinion. What they are saying, is that they wouldn't vote for Ed Miliband because he looks, well, intelligent, and they would  only consider voting Labour if the Leader was Cheryl Cole or someone off TOWIE.
Of  course Labours main problem is not the worrying ascetics of Ed Millibands facial features but the lack of a cause. The Torys objectives are clear. They want to roll back to state, dismantle the NHS, privatise education and create a compliant labour pool  based on Victorian values. A time when power and privilege was held and jealously controlled by a select few wealthy families and individuals, who ensured it remained closely guarded and never left their greasy grasp. This entire philosophy is based on an attitude of 'why must I pay for the education and healthcare of the plebs and their children when surely if they remain poor, hungry and uneducated then they will die sooner.' It may be considered extreme to couch it in those terms but it is obvious, ably demonstrated by Mitchell's outburst towards the Police, that through every Tory runs a thick seam of hatred for the people they likely refer to as 'plebs, 'lower orders' or, I expect this one is only used around the cabinet table, ' idle working class chav scum'.
Labours objectives are thin and watery and seem to be nothing more than trying to placate the 'Daily Heil' brigade with their pathetic leap upon the 'lets demonise people claiming benefits' bandwagon as they pander to the  bigoted middle classes. Labour use to be the party that protected the poor and vulnerable, now they are just theTory-lite party with nothing new to say.Whereas theTorys want to place a bomb under society, retire to a safe distance, probably their estates in the country, and blow it to smithereens, all Labour can do is promise, if they are re-elected,  to tinker around a bit, slip in a bit of fascist hyperbole every now and then, and hope things will get better.
The Labour Party may not be able to regain its relevancy to the working class until the Tory's have accomplished their mission of turning Britain into a society of hate filled, self interest driven individuals who consider no action being beyond the pale if it is in the interests of looking after number one.
Two of the many examples of Tory rhetoric are relevant. When Liam Fox, the ex-defence secretary, renown for travelling the world on official business in the company of his man friend, venomously accused Polly Toynbee on Any Questions of being 'a bleeding heart liberal'. The impression being that Fox considered anybody who was concerned for the plight of others was committing a crime against humanity and the classic comment of Thatcher 'There is no such thing as society, only families and individuals'.

Thatchers quote sums up this current gang of greasy Tory boys philosophies perfectly.

Jimmy Savile.

Since the unpleasant revelations and accusations about Jimmy Savile have come into the public domain, several people have crawled out of the woodwork, saying how they saw this and noticed that and were fully aware of his proclivities. One individual has recounted a time when he walked into Saviles bedroom to find him in bed with a 14yr old girl. A girl he claims he saw Savile with in a restaurant the night before. It's a shame these people never bothered to speak up at the time, it may have saved many ruined lives. Their defence seems to be that he was too powerful. Which is quite frankly, ridicoulous. He was an eccentric, medallion wearing disc jockey with a strange dress sense not the Boss of the Gambino family. I think these people were more concerned about the effects any disclosures would have on their own interests rather than saving young girls from being abused. They were looking after number one.Just like the Tory's

" If the claim is true and we are all living in one of many parallel lives. Then how come I got the crappy one."
