Let's be honest, Cameron's speech was nothing more than a ra ra speech for the Nazi Party and the middle englanders. The under lining point being, that they haven't got any idea how to turn the economy around, so let's just hope things will get better, and in the meantime we'll just keep punishing the poor and making them poorer. Their main policy is simply Austerity for the majority to feed the never ending greed of the minority!
Cameron had nothing to say, other than banging on,using tired old anecdotes about benefit scroungers which of course, the Nazi's loved. His performance was lacklustre and the part about his father being a stockbroker and not having any heels made me cringe. At first I thought he was complaining about the lack of steep gradients on his fathers country estate and that, like Belgium, he didn't have any hills. And the bit about spreading privilege was nonsensical. You can't spread privilge to everyone because then it's not privilege. What does he think is going to happen, are we all going to inherit massive wealth from our parents, not have to get a proper job Ever! and be privately educated. I think he must have skinned up before coming on stage. I can't think of any other reason why he would be so out of touch with reality.
Unsurprising that he tried to take credit, a la Boris Johnson, for the Olympics when in truth they had nothing to do with it's success. It was a Labour government that bid for them, it was a Labour government that won them and it was a Labour government that planned and built the infrastructure and put all the plans in place. All the conservatives had to do was sell the tickets (disaster) and arrange the security (total disater). Mind you I must agree, it was great watching our world class state sponsored athletes succeed on our world class state sponsored broadcaster.
The speech was incredibly defensive, mainly in response to Ed Millibands speech at the Labour conference, but phrases like 'sink or swim' do not instill confidence. I don't think him and his rich Tory mates will be doing much sinking. He admitted that the economy is stagnating but then tried to claim that the jobs market was thriving due to a million extra jobs being created in the private sector. What he doesn't say is that these so-called jobs are zero contract jobs or part time at best which do not provide a living wage and do not help anybody out of poverty. In fact, with the withdrawal of Tax Credits more people are slipping below the poverty line. All these extra jobs is just PR bul***it or just outright lies. Sustainable jobs that people can build futures around are required not some zero contract job trying to sell double glazing or kleeneze products.
Of course the most craven aspect of the speech was when he began lecturing people about hard work and striving as if a man of massive inherited wealth and privilege, who's never had a proper job, would know anything about hard work and striving. He wouldn't recognise hard work and striving if it jumped up and bit him on his waxy doughnutty face.
He didn't mention in his speech the double dip recession, that this government is borrowing more than the labour government did in thirteen years. He didn't mention the tax cut for the wealthy, funded by the sick and the disabled or the million jobless young without a future. He didn't mention gay marriage. He didn't mention the Lib Dems or the coalition. He didn't even mention the two female Police Officers who died serving this country. He was so desperate he had to shoehorn Abu Hamza in to get a round of applause.
The speech was empty except for sentimental schmaltz and only succeeded in proving that the Nazi party and it's camp followers, have no idea. So all they will do is regress back to hating homosexuals, people on welfare, Europe, immigrants, the working class and the BBC. I'm sure many of them wish, that if only they had been at their prime and living in 1930's Germany. What fun they would have had.
Doing what's right.
Cameron is forever repeating the mantra 'doing what's right'. If a chief whip swears and abuses two Police Officers and calls them plebs as well as attempting to abuse his position by threatening them with the sack then I would have thought that 'doing what's right' would be to summarily dismiss the chief whip. Unfortunately, it would appear Cameron lives by the principle 'do as I say and not as I do.' Hypocrisy, methinks?
" Is there intelligent life out there. Yes! Proved by the cogent fact that they haven't tried to contact us!"
