Hate Begats Hate.

The brutal, horrific and cowardly murder committed in Woolwich, London yesterday, is a visceral example of the hate that infects the human condition, a condition that many must take responsibility for facilitating.
I do not blame pornography, violent films, the internet, or violent video games for this level of violence, because humans have been committing unimaginable levels of butchery and brutality on each other for centuries. I blame the low levels of accepted hatred that are encouraged and endorsed by our politicians, by religion and by our ignorant ‘I’m alright Jack’ attitude.
The persecution of the weak by the strong is being encouraged by our current government. Chasing an animal across the countryside, to the point of exhaustion, and then watching, as it is torn to pieces by a pack of dogs is considered, by some, as an acceptable leisure pursuit. Animals are slaughtered without being stunned. Hung upside down by their legs and their throats cut, left to die in pain and fear because of someone’s religious belief.  Respect for life, any life, is nonexistent. We have government ministers who consider it a sport to blow birds out of the sky for fun.
A blind eye is turned away from the wicked actions of some sovereign states ( i.e Israel, Bahrain, South Africa under apartheid, Chile under Pinochet,The USA , supposedly 'The land of the free and home of the brave', who for decades treated Afro Americans no better than cattle) if they are considered ‘friendly’, while politicians leap to their feet and posture and strut as they condemn other countries deemed ‘unfriendly’, for committing similar atrocities. Politicians happily glorify war for political gain, happy to trade the deaths of young men and woman for votes.
Religion cannot stand aside and feign innocence. Muslims cannot miss the irony when people are threatened with death if they say that Islam is a violent religion or condemn apostates to death. The hate and bile being directed at supporters of gay marriage was not inspired by Jesus and when Israeli Jews call for the extermination of Palestinians you wonder what, if anything, they have learned from their past. I could go on, the list is interminable. Protestants in Belfast spitting on Catholic school children, as they walk to school. The burning of the Cathars, ordered by Pope Innocent III( what was the fifth commandment?), who considered them heretics because they had the temerity to break away from the Catholic church and choose the way they wanted to practice their religion. Muslim fundamentalists calling for the eradication of The State Of Israel and of course The Crusades, which were supposedly carried out in the name of God, but were nothing more than an excuse to accumulate wealth and riches.
Another explosion of hate will now follow this shocking murder. Peaceful Muslims will be blamed and targeted. Mosques will be defiled along with calls of “send ‘em all back to where they came from”. The radio phone-ins will be flooded with bigots, racists and ignoramuses, nearly all of them will be over 40 yrs old. This murder will be used as a vehicle by some to justify their hate and prejudices and they will feel confident that they can voice them without sanction. The right wing rags will ramp up the hatred with provocative headlines. For the next few weeks it will be okay to be a racist. Spokesman for the BNP, UKip and the EDL will float to the top of their septic tanks and start bleating about ‘how they told us so’. Grim faced politicians will make solemn statements while their special advisors will be checking opinion poll responses and counting votes in back rooms in Downing Street.
This is the world WE have allowed to be created. A world of casual violence inflicted on the weak, as we conveniently turn and look the other way. A world where violence is inflicted on children and animals, but is ignored, unless it encroaches into our own little piece of ‘paradise’, after all you don’t have to read the papers, the radio can be turned off, and if something unpleasant comes on the telly, you can turn over and watch Eastenders instead.
But it’s not going away and if you think things aren’t going to get better you’re even more stupid than I thought.
I don’t know if there is a God but if there is I would be surprised if he isn’t looking around and thinking to himself that it might be time for The Judgment Day.
Bring it on, I say. Bring it on.

 It’s Not a Tory/Ukip Merger the Country Needs. It’s A Lib/Lab Coalition.

The Tory’s and Ukip would merge or create a pact for the reasons of self interest and self interest only. What the Country needs is to be governed by a coalition of the Liberal Democrat party and the Labour party, because they would govern in the best interests of the nation.
The Labour Party is no longer solely the party of the working classes and the unions. That party was euthanised in 1997. Now, it is a rigidly centre left party that appears to fair-minded people with a global perspective. The Liberal Democrats, whilst in government, have provided a degree of protection from the rabid elements of the Tory party. It is obvious, watching from the sidelines, as the Tory party is engulfed by homophobia and eurosceptic insanity, that the damage a Tory government would have inflicted on the country , without the calming and rational effect of the Lib Dems, would have been truly frightening.
A Government consisting of Labour and Liberal Democrats would probably govern the country for decades, leading to the annihilation of the Tory party which would fragment and form, with UKIP/BNP/EDL, several extreme right wing parties that, eventually, would be treated with the same contempt that the British National Party/EDL are rightly treated now.

Cry baby Beckham! Cry Baby Beckham!

When a society arrives at a point when a millionaire starts blubbing, because he’s finally giving up kickball, is considered a major news item, I think we should all pull the duvet up over our heads and wait for death to consume us.
Apparently, bless him, he said ‘the emotion became too much that I couldn’t run anymore’. Let’s all be grateful he wasn’t a part of the Normandy Landings. Imagine the effect his emotions would have on his running as he waded, chest deep, from a landing craft onto Juno or Omaha beach, towards a wall of machine gun fire, while being strafed from above by German Fokkers.

Hee! Hee!……Swivel Eyed Loons……. That’s Funny.

I think somebody has forgotten to renew the Conservative Party‘s anti-virus software. It’s obviously been infected by a load of grass roots Tory activist bots who are multiplying fast, and are happily being aided by the nutters and fruitcakes on the Tory back benches who, when it suits their agenda, conveniently forget they didn’t win the 2010 General Election.
When you listen to the ravings of MP’s such as Libdem hater Peter Bone, jungle muncher, Nadine Dorries and David Davies, not the one who will never rest until the Prime Minister is destroyed, but the one that represents a hillbilly constituency in Wales, you realise that handing the Tory’s a majority at the next election is the equivalent of handing a loaded handgun to a two year old and leaving them to play in the communal area of a care home. It’s not going to end well.

Stop it, now!

Some phrases I am tired of hearing:

“We are in a global race”.  No we are not. In a race, everyone starts from the same point.

“Hard working Families”. There is no such thing as a ‘hard working family’. Some people within a family may work hard, others (children? retired?) do not work hard at all. Single people work hard as well.

“We took over an economy in a mess because of the previous government”. The economy was struggling because of the global banking crash. Gordon Brown may have come across as a dour, miserable Scot but if it wasn’t for the measures taken by him in 2008, the economy would have been a basket case. History will prove this.

“Tax avoidance is legal”. So is a 40yr old man having sex with a 16yr old girl. Whether it is morally right is a whole different argument.

“Marriage between a man and a woman has formed the fabric of our society for centuries”. So did slavery. Times change, get used to it.

“We want to support people who do the right thing”. Like MP’s fraudulent expense claims, Corporations evading paying billions in taxes, bankers setting LIBOR rates, utilities companies who run cartels and inflate prices or HMRC doing ‘sweetheart deals’ with  multi- nationals, denying the country billions in tax revenues, thus passing on the liability to the poor and vulnerable, while greedy executives reap millions while financially raping the nation. Sometimes the hypocrisy makes me gag.

“The deficit has been reduced”. It is irrelevant what happens to the deficit because the measurement is the structural deficit, and that, along with borrowing is still rising. MP’s are lying by omission and treating the public as idiots.

Economic definitions for dummies:
Deficit- The difference between how much you spend each year and how much your incomings are.
Structural Deficit- The cumulative amount of deficits over a period of years.
e.g. if in year 1 your income is £20000 and your outgoings are £21000, then your deficit is £1000. If this is repeated over three years then the Structural Deficit is £3000.
Debt- Everything you owe. E.g. if you have £60000 outstanding on your mortgage, £3000 outstanding on credit cards, £4000 outstanding on a personal loan and £2000 on the purchase of a car, then your debt is £69000.

By continually parroting these phrases Politicians are treating the General Public with contempt. They believe we are too thick to see beyond the propaganda and too lazy to bother finding out the truth. Are they right?

Legal Aid Changes.

The changes to legal aid will mean that people without the means of paying for their own lawyer will have to put up with whoever they are assigned, with no choice in the process at all.
One of the companies involved will be Stobart Lawyers, a subsidiary of Eddie Stobart Trucking. Let’s just hope that if you require the services of a defence lawyer, he won’t be working on your brief while he’s trunking twenty pallets of bog roll down into the West Country and that the courts won’t be full of people noting down the female names tattooed on the foreheads of the barristers.
On a darker side, this is another example of the Tories, along with right wing lobby groups such as The Taxpayer Alliance, knowing the price of everything and the value of nothing. The changes will lead to more miscarriages of Justice, leading to innocent people being incarcerated. The quality of representation will be poor, because all highly skilled lawyers and barristers will steer clear of criminal law in favour of commercial law, leaving the field open to poorly trained lawyers in the image of Lionel Hutz (The Simpsons).Without good legal aid representation, The Birmingham Six, The Guildford Four, Stefan Kisco, and many others would still be incarcerated for crimes they did not commit.
This is another example of the Tories looking across the Atlantic for their ideas, which is fine if America was a balanced and meritocratic society. But facts show that the USA is a country where the quality of fairness, justice and opportunity available, is based on the size of your bank balance rather than the content of your heart.

Gay Marriage.

What’s the problem with offering a minority in society something the majority takes for granted? That is the point of living in a Liberal Democracy. The opponents of gay marriage claim not to be homophobic. They speak of the hurt they feel, their religious beliefs, quoting selectively from the bible or how marriage is a tradition that bonds the fabric of society together, supposedly preventing all of us from descending into anarchy.
In reality, at first, marriage was nothing more than an exchange of goods and chattels between two families which morphed into a patriarchal institution used as a control mechanism to oppress women. A third of marriages end in divorce. Tory’s are so keen on marriage that many of them have tried it three or four times. Many people are miserable while married, while some marriages are a convenient cover for abuse and brutality. It is not the prophylactic for society’s ills that some self interestedly profess.
I think it receives undue respect and should be banned, or it should be legal for anybody to marry anything, houses should be allowed to marry bus shelters, a gerbil should be able to live happily ever after with a goose. Why can’t a crunchie bar openly commit to a Vauxhall Corsa 1.1 litre, instead of fearing public persecution? Why should a chimney pot feel shame because of its love for a washing line? Instead, it must live, its love unrequited, watching the object of its desires gently sway in the warm summer breeze. How can you be so cruel, you selfish uncaring bastards, show some humanity, please, for crying out loud, show some humanity ……..( the author is quietly sobbing)……………….“I’ve got to go now,….. I’m feeling unwell,…… bye”.(sob)

“Time is a man made construct, used as a tool of oppression”.
