Tory Tantrums and What Lies beneath.

There have been two recent events that have proved to be vivid depictions of what Tories really think about people who they consider to be beneath them in the social order.

The recent libel case between former Chief Whip, Andrew Mitchell, and The Sun and Metropolitan Police, which was adjudicated by the judge as being in favour of the latter, showed the obvious contempt Mitchell has for people he would consider beneath him. It also rips away the flimsy facade the Tories try to put up, that they are a pluralistic party working for the benefit of all. When in fact the judgement reinforces, what intelligent people have always known, that the Tories consider the masses to be nothing more than poorly paid tools to be used and abused to facilitate the Tories own personal wealth plans.

It is a universal truth that people show their true feelings when they lose their temper and unconscious and conscious prejudices will quickly surface. This was the case with Mitchell when he called police officers ‘ F***ing plebs’ and then went on to tell them ‘that they should know their place’.

It is important to explain the context of this Tory tantrum. Mitchell was demanding to be allowed through the main gates of Downing Street, with, what looks like his wife’s bicycle, but was refused and told to use the pedestrian gate. Ignoring the pathetic affectation Mitchell apparently has, of riding a woman’s bicycle with wicker basket and concentrating on the key point, any sane person would consider the level of arrogance shown by Mitchell, as he berated people doing the job of protecting him and his ilk, as abhorrent and distasteful, especially as his hissy fit was performed a few days after two female police officers had been gunned down in Leeds, doing their job.

Mitchell has a track record when it comes to foul mouthed tirades and temper tantrums towards people just trying to do their jobs. He once referred to one of his protection officers as 'plod'. A truly repulsive attitude shown towards someone whose job it was to stand between the disgusting Mitchell and a bullet. This obnoxious rant is yet another one to add to a litany of abuse perpetrated by the repulsive Mitchell. But this time his hubris proved to be his undoing.

The second Tory tantrum involves former Tory cabinet minister, Queens’s counsel, radio presenter and award winning broadcaster, David Mellor. I list Mellor’s supposed achievements because, when he got into an argument with a taxi driver about the route that was being taken, and after he had called the taxi driver ‘a sweaty little sh+T’ and told him to ‘get an education before arguing with me’ he felt the need to recite his curriculum vitae in an extreme version of ‘do you know who I am’. The fact he felt the need to reel of his CV seems to suggest that Mellor may be suffering from very low self esteem. What it did seem to demonstrate was a very unpleasant attitude Mellor has towards anyone he doesn't consider his equal.

And that sums up the Tories. They have no respect for anyone other than their small little clique of friends. For everyone else they have nothing but hate and contempt. They yearn for the good old days of deference, when the rich man was in his manor house and the poor man was at the gate, and are actively trying to recreate those days.

Mitchells and Mellor’s actions were disgusting, unacceptable and stank of snobbery and condescension whilst exposing an inbred patrician and patronising attitude, all too prevalent within Tory ranks.

They consider ordinary people to be ‘plebs’ and poorly educated ‘sweaty little sh+t’s’ that are unworthy of respect.

Want a Laugh?

For anybody who has access to the BBC’s Iplayer, you should check out Prime Minister Questions on 26/11/2012. It is hilarious. Keep your eyes on the Chancellor of the Exchequer, George Osborne. It looks like he is either tripping on LSD, three sheets to the wind................. or worst?

Keeping the British Taxpayers Money in the Family.

Tory MP Nadine Dorries paid her daughter Phillipa between £44,000 and £49,999 in wages and her other daughter Jennifer between £30,000 and £34,999 in wages.

Tory MP Peter Bone paid his wife between £45,000 and £49,000 in wages.

Tory MP Christopher Chope paid his wife between £45,000 and £49,000 in wages.

Tory Transport Minister Steven Hammond paid his wife up to £45,000.

Tory Justice Secretary Chris Grayling paid his wife between £35,000 and £39,999.

Tory Transport Secretary Patrick Mcloughlin paid his wife between £35,000 and £39,999.

Tory MP Laurence Robertson paid his estranged wife between £25,000 and £29,999 and his current partner between £40,000 and £44,999.

Labour MP Andrew Miller employed both his wife and his cousin whilst Labour MP Meg Munn employed her husband and her sister-in-law.

All were paid with taxpayers money.

Isn't it marvellous how, apparently, the best person for the job, coincidentally, happens to be married or related to the MP. What are the chances of that!

The Monster Raving UKIP Party: Racist, Misogynistic and Misanthropic.

The title to this piece sums up my feelings about the United Kingdom Independence Party. They are full of misogynistic little Englanders who hark back to a rose tinted version of the 1950's, where it was acceptable to displays signs saying 'no blacks, no Irish, no dogs'. A sign which could easily be mistaken for a UKIP campaign poster.

I am not sure who I find more detestable, the grotesques who are trying to portray themselves as politicians or the intellectual simpletons that blindly follow them, even though a simple question about any of UKIP's policies brings a dead-eyed vacant response that invariably ends with some vacuous mumbling about immigrants.

What I find risible is UKIP's attempt to portray itself as the party of the people.Nigel Farage, the current leader of UKIP, and so-called 'man of the people' stands in a pub, drinking a pint and smoking a fag and the simpletons fall about marvelling at, well someone drinking a pint while smoking a fag, as if he had just split the bloody atom or found a cure for cancer. They seem to conveniently ignore or are blindly unaware that UKIP is a party backed by big business and wealthy individuals, just like the mainstream  parties, and it is lead by a public schoolboy who worked in the city and who is a dyed in the wool, old school, Home Counties Tory. A member of the same corporate and establishment cronyism, UKIP is supposed to be railing against.

Some Ukip Donors. ( not exactly a list of butchers, bakers and candlestick makers).

  • Paul Sykes £1.4 million.
  • Christopher Mills, hedge fund manager. £50,000
  • Robin Birley, socialite. £50,000
  • Stuart Wheeler, spread betting owner. £514,000
  • Julian Blackwell, publisher. £175,000
  • Lord Niedpath. £54,000 on nine different occasions.
  • Viscount Cowdray. £35,000
  • Lady Yvonne Colin. £10,000
The majority of these donors were former supporters of the Tory party.

What is truly objectionable is the way the mainstream media has willingly fallen for the UKIP shtick, the BBC (British Broadcasting Corporation) being one of the main cheerleaders. You can understand why the right wing press would constantly champion UKIP. After all UKIP are just saying things the right wing press covertly agree with, but know that they would be unable to overtly support. Hence any story about UKIP's crazy anti-Europe rhetoric, or its never ending vileness about migrants or any misogynistic or homophobic bile it might spew, gets heavy coverage with a veneer of overt disapproval from the right wing tabloids. But covertly, they are complicit and gleefully agree with most of what has been spouted by whatever UKIP cockspawn yeehaa spouted it. What the media refuses to do is to seriously and robustly challenge UKIP on any of their policies. Some of which are incredibly objectionable and deeply misogynistic.

The policies are deeply misanthropic and demonstrate a level of hatred that even surpasses the Tory party in their vindictiveness and repulsiveness. But when you consider that UKIP is a turbo-Tory, Thatcherite party, which, if giving the opportunity, would gleefully carry on Thatcher's legacy of destroying society in favour of corporate Britain while making the rich richer and the poor much poorer, then the surprise that they are a party of hatemongers is minuscule.

Lets put aside the anti-Europe/immigrant rhetoric, we get it. UKIP hates foreigners and hates the European Union although this hatred doesn't stop their MEP's ( Member of the European Parliament) from leaping on the same gravy train, they constantly criticise, and fill their boots with massive expense claims. Farage himself was investigated for claiming £15,000 a year in office running costs when it came to light that he pays no rent on the property and according to a former manager of the office, bills and non-rental costs come to no more than £3,000 per annum. Another UKIP MEP, Trevor Coleman, admitted he went to Brussels to claim the  £200,000 in allowances and he had only taken part in half of the votes since 2009. Sounds familiar doesn't it?

Lets concentrate on domestic UKIP policy or what passes for it.
  • Scrapping Maternity pay.
  • Raising Income Tax for the poor.
  • Introducing a flat rate of tax for rich and poor.
  • Privatising the National Health Service.
  • Scrapping Inheritance Tax.
  • Repealing the smoking ban
  • Abolishing the Dept of Culture, Media and Sport.
  • Abolish laws to protect human rights.
  • Scrapping all holiday entitlement.
  • Scrapping all current laws that prevent racist, homophobic or misogynistic abuse. They claim it suppresses freedom of speech. ( further down in this piece I mention Farage complaining about left wing comics exercising their right to freedom of speech and making jokes at UKIP's expense. It would appear UKIP believe only a chosen few should be allowed to exercise this right. Hypocrisy?)
  • Making rape legal within marriage.
  • Abandoning all actions to fight climate change.
  • No house building on green belt land.
  • Making it legal to discriminate on the basis of gender.
  • Passing legislation that would allow a women who falls pregnant whilst in employment, to be dismissed.
The list is not comprehensive, but it is downright frighteningly backward and disgusting. Add to this, UKIP's alignment with far right parties within the European Union, some of which are a mixture of holocaust deniers, Nazi sympathisers and outright racists, and the constant stream of foul comments that spew from the mouths of UKIP MEP's, party donors and supporters, and you have a heady brew of borderline fascism dressed up in tweed jackets, brightly coloured waistcoats and crimson cords. A mixture of Rupert the Bear, Mr Toad and Mussolini, if Rupert Bear and Mr Toad  had enlisted in the Hitler Youth, but without the intellectual clarity.

The hype around the recent by-election victories is a classic example of the media enjoying the carnival but ignoring the facts. The two MP's, Mark Reckless and Douglas Carswell, are just Tory retreads as well as both being privileged ex-public schoolboys. They were sitting MP's who just changed party. The people who voted for them were not voting to change the government. Nor were they were deciding who should be Prime Minister or deciding or rejecting a manifesto. They did not vote for change at all, they voted for the status quo.

As mentioned earlier in this piece, the only lighthearted moment recently, in this seemingly never ending grotesque cavalcade of stupidity and evil, was when Farage claimed victim hood because he was annoyed that  left wing comics were ganging up on UKIP in panel shows. This was backed up by an obviously bitter and relatively unknown right wing comedian called Andrew Lawrence. For a white, middle class, public school educated, ex-city dealer from the home counties to claim victim hood, it really is beyond parody.

There is no doubt that our political system has become stale, establishment driven and our representatives rarely step out of their Westminster bubble. But if you want change, choosing UKIP is like deciding you are tired of coffee, so for a change you decide to have a cup of coffee but in a mug instead of a cup. There is no change.

UKIP are a party of foreigner hating, women hating, former extreme right wing Tory's who hark back to a time that never existed for the majority of Britons. A time of deference and forelock tugging, where everyone knew their place, especially women, and the globe was still two thirds pink.

That's not change.

Talking of Misogynists.

Richard Benyon MP.The Ugly Face of Predatory Capitalism.

The MP (Member of Parliament) benyon, has been the subject of this blog on several other occasions, mainly in his role as Wildlife Minister. High points of his tenure were when he suggested that buzzard nests, containing chicks, should be blasted with shotguns, and his refusal to ban the poison Carbofuran, a poison that is used illegally by gamekeepers to kill protected raptors who prey on game birds.A recent case demonstrated the level of illegality that is perpetrated on some shooting estates, when an estate worker on a large shooting estate was found in possession of ten poisoned raptors. benyon owns a large shooting estate. His motives were often brazenly evident in many of his decisions as Wildlife Minister.

Fortunately, and I like to think this blog played a small part; benyon was sacked as Wildlife Minister. Probably because he was considered incompetent, but who knows, maybe it was because he is even posher and richer than the Prime Minister and the Chancellor of the Exchequer and maybe that grated on Cameron and Osborne.Unfortunately being dumped on the back benches has, it would appear, allowed benyon time to pick on new prey. He’s usual prey are game birds, which he enjoys, with his chinless hooray mates, blowing out of the sky for fun. This time his prey is human and it resurrects the dark days and worst aspects of a practice, known as ‘Rackmanism,’ employed in 1950’s London, involving poor people being constructively evicted from their homes. Thus, benyon is, in my opinion, a disgusting and vile piece of humanity.

benyon is the wealthiest MP in parliament, but he didn’t earn most of his wealth, he inherited it from his family. It is predominately unearned wealth. He is one of those entitled individuals, who, barring a brief period in the army, has never had a proper job, has never had to sweat to create a living and is totally detached from the lives of millions, yet still arrogantly think they are entitled to rule over us without the slightest understanding about our lives.

As previously stated, benyon inherited a massive country estate which is run by a trust set up by his family. benyon is one of those MP’s who rails against the ‘something for nothing’ culture within Britain, which is ironic coming from someone who is rich through unearned wealth. It is also ironic because benyon is the recipient, through his trust, of £2 million in agricultural subsidies, from the European Union, as well as £650,000 through Housing benefit. It appears benyon is also hypocrite.

But benyon’s hypocrisies around himself being in receipt of benefits while demonising others also in receipt of benefits, albeit on a much smaller scale than benyon, pale into insignificance when considering benyon’s latest activities.

In London there is a housing estate known as the New Era estate. It was built by a charitable trust in the 1930’s. It is one of a few estates still remaining where working class and low paid Londoners have access to affordable housing. benyon is involved, through a consortium, in purchasing this estate with the aim of selling or renting the properties at current London market rates. However, before this can be achieved, there is the stumbling block of the current sitting tenants.

The tenants are now facing increased rents or eviction, or in the words of benyon  ‘asked to seek alternative accommodation’. The rents have been increased by upwards of two hundred pounds a month, with the eventual aim of charging upwards of £2300 a month. The people that live in these properties are not wealthy. They are key workers in the National Health Service, public sector employees, low paid workers and the retired. The rents being ask are way beyond them. Some are facing the possibility of being homeless or having to move, with their children, into hostels, or being offered alternative accommodation hundreds of miles away in cities such as Birmingham and Liverpool, leading to the breakup of families, extended family support systems and the fracturing of lives. These are supposedly the ‘hardworking families’ this government professes to support, but this particularly iniquitous and disgusting example demonstrates how duplicitous that attitude is.

I could have used some very abusive terms to describe what I think of benyon and his ilk and I would have been justified because it would be a true and honest reflection of my anger at the way the wealthy use and abuse people for their own personal self enrichment and, specifically, my rage and fury at benyon's grotesque antics. It is an anger directed at how the favoured few consider poor people to be nothing more than commodities that can be stripped of their dignity before being tossed into the gutter as collateral damage. The people living on the New Era estate are having their lives destroyed and their families broken up because of an avaricious greed gleefully encouraged by this Tory government, and being executed by benyon and his sort. It is unacceptable.

It is unsurprising that the coalition government refuses to introduce rent controls for key workers when you discover that several Tory MP’s are also landlords.

People like benyon are a blight on a civilised, humane society. They popularise the expedient attitude that being poor is a deserving punishment, conveniently forgetting that their own unearned wealth and good fortune was handed to them on a silver platter, not in a wage packet earned through hard work and endeavour. They promote the lie, actively supported by quisling journalists, that the poor are poor because they are lazy and indolent and the wealthy are wealthy because they are hard working, conveniently omitting the inconvenient truth that wealth begets wealth and that luckily for many of today's wealthy, daddy was very rich.

They are an affront to social justice and illustrate how ludicrous the claim is that we live in a meritocracy where working hard leads to wealth. Nurses work hard, street cleaners work hard, refuse collectors work hard, care workers work hard, many people work hard, yet are in receipt of pauper wages. They are not wealthy. To survive, many have to depend on tax credits, because wealthy bosses pay poverty wages that the tax payer has to subsidise. The rich get richer while the poor get poorer. That is this governments mission statement.

benyon's actions are emblematic of everything that is rotten and putrid within British society. A society where the poor and vulnerable are treated no better than farmyard animals, and where greed is king. Where the disabled are abused and where guide dogs are attacked. A society where a convicted rapist is treated like a returning king by football fans. A society where bankers and politicians steal, but receive no sanction, other than a few sacrificial lambs being hung out to dry in an attempt to conceal the crimes of the majority. Or where a selfish, self indulgent mother refuses to move her buggy from the space allocated to wheelchairs on a bus, forcing the wheelchair user to wait for the next bus. A society where the establishment works for the establishment, and its wealthy cohorts, and will step on anybody or anything that gets in its way. A celebrity obsessed society where the abuse of animals is considered an acceptable form of entertainment on a television programme, presented by two grinning, gurning, Geordie goons, while the gormless watch the inane. A society where families can be tossed out of their homes, onto the street, and this government not only fails to act, but actively encourages the outrage.

Benyon is one of the architects of this society. His treatment of the families living on the New Era Estate in Hoxton epitomises the evil hateful money grubbing tendencies of the Tories specifically, and the establishment elite in general. They do not give a F**k.

I do not think this was the society those who gave their lives on Flanders fields or on the beaches of Normandy or in the deserts of Libya or the jungles of South East Asia had in mind.

Hardly a land fit for heroes is it.
..................................................................................................................................................
Just to reinforce my assertion that benyon is uncaring and vile, I have listed below some details of his voting record as a Member of Parliament. A ‘job’ where he can claim back the cost of a light bulb while others in Britain have difficulty putting food on their children’s plates.

Voted very strongly against paying higher benefits over longer periods for those unable to work due to illness or disability
Voted strongly against spending public money to create guaranteed jobs for young people who have spent a long time unemployed
Voted strongly for reducing housing benefit for social tenants deemed to have excess bedrooms (which Labour describe as the "bedroom tax")
Voted very strongly against increasing the tax rate applied to income over £150,000
Voted strongly against an annual tax on the value of expensive homes (popularly known as a mansion tax)
Voted very strongly for raising England’s undergraduate tuition fee cap to £9,000 per year
Voted very strongly for university tuition fees
Voted strongly against a more proportional system for electing MPs
Voted moderately for greater restrictions on campaigning by third parties, such as charities, during elections
Voted strongly against transferring more powers to the Scottish Parliament
Voted moderately for requiring the mass retention of information about communications.
Voted strongly against slowing the rise in rail fares.
Voted very strongly for selling England’s state owned forests.
Voted moderately for restricting the scope of legal aid.
Voted moderately for culling badgers to tackle bovine tuberculosis.
Voted moderately against restrictions on fees charged to tenants by letting agents.
Voted moderately against a banker’s bonus tax.

Update: Since this article was published benyon has pulled out of the consortium involved in the purchase of the New Era Estate. However the American owned consortium are still going ahead. The tenants are still facing constructive eviction by having their rents raised to levels that are beyond their means.

The Most Wonderful Time of the Year.

Autumn can be a magical time of the year in Britain. It is the time when the season of mellow fruitfulness is drawing to a close and the pavements and pathways are covered in leaves of differing bronze hues, hiding the dog shit left there, so you don't notice it until you've stepped in it. It is the time of the harvest festival, when young children knock on the doors of the elderly and, in an effort to help them through the hard cold months of winter, they hand them a tin of lychee's and a tin of pineapple chunks, both with the best before dates suspiciously smudged and unreadable, bounty from the harvest festival collections at their school. It's a heartwarming and life enhancing period, as the year ages and slowly dies. It the time of year when we celebrate the ancient tradition (about 12 years ) of Halloween, by encouraging young children to approach strangers and ask for sweets and when youths knock on doors and demand money or goods with menaces. A time of year when we celebrate the survival of our parliament by burning an effigy of a catholic and then scare the bejesus out of every cat and dog in the land by setting off millions off fireworks.

It is also the time when we commemorate our dead. Those who fell so we can live a life free of dictators, in a society that cherishes freedom of speech and thought. Never is the phrase 'I do not agree with what you say but I will defend your right to say it'ever been more apt then when we celebrate the fallen on Armistice Day.

Unfortunately it is also the time of year when the fascists come creeping out from under their stones and start bandying around terms such as 'unpatriotic' and 'traitor' or 'disrespectful', when they spot a television presenter, newsreader, politician or anybody else, who should have the temerity not to wear a poppy in public.

The irony can not be lost surely, with people who seem to think they have the right to tell others what they should be thinking and what they should be wearing, especially when the item in question, the poppy, is worn to commemorate those that died fighting a regime that wished to impose that same intolerant and bigoted ideologue on our nation.

I will be blunt now, as I address these poppy fascists. Shut the f**k up with your fascist, bigoted whinging. We live in a free society where we can, within the law, freely say what we think, freely wear or not wear what we like and freely do what we want. Don't you get it.

They gave their lives so we could be free!........ MORONS!!!!!!!!.

Vanity?
There are many facts to be uncovered in the Virgin Galactic tragedy, but one fact cannot be denied. Richard Branson's obscene vanity project has led to the death of a father of two.

Child Abuse Enquiry.
It is not that the Tories are having difficulty finding a qualified candidate to chair the inquiry into historic child abuse centred around the Tory government of the 1980's. Their are many suitable candidates, Michael Mansfield, Helena Kennedy and Jim Gamble to name but a few. Their problem is they cannot get an accepted candidate approved who will do their bidding and who they can control. Their somewhat desperate tactics at the moment are centred around kicking the inquiry into the long grass until after the 2015 General Election. Hence the tactic of picking inappropriate people, who they know, because of the persons establishment connections, will not be considered as suitable. Expect them to name a suitable candidate a month before the election so as to give an impression of caring.

The Tories know that if the full facts of the abuses committed are allowed to be disclosed and the names of the high profile Tories and establishment figures that committed them and may still be committing them, become known, then the Tory party will be blown out of the water, Thatchers so-called legacy will be tainted and destroyed and the Tories will be unelectable for at least a generation.

The truth is out there.

Asylum Seekers.
The governments policy on asylum seekers in the Mediterranean is easily explained. They've decided to let innocent women, children and babies drown because they consider it far more important to give tax breaks to their wealthy friends and families, than save the lives of innocent children and babies.

Whiney b-list celeb?
' Celeb?' Griff Rhys-Jones, has said that if Labour win the next election and introduce a mansion tax, he will move abroad.
If you need a lift to the airport Mr Jones, just give me a call, I can be there in twenty minutes, and thanks for giving me a reason to vote Labour.

What the F>>>>>>>>!

The above photo of a naked Chancellor of the Exchequer, George Osborne, holding an empty red box and a large carrot, was unveiled on an 'away day' for Tory Members of Parliament.

I have nothing else to add.

A Definition.
United Kingdom Independence Party: Nazi's without the style.

Question.
A question for the right wing that is slightly rhetorical: If you believe in a free market, then surely you have to have free movement of labour. Or else it is not a free market. Am I right? Take that suckers!

More Lies and Hypocrisy.

The Daily Mail or Daily Heil, as some like to refer to it, due to its historical support of Fascism, has been running an 'expose' on the National Health Service of Wales. This is really nothing more than a party political broadcast on behalf of the Tory party, masterminded by the 'Aussie mongrel' and well known tobacco and alcohol lobbyist, Lynton Crosby, and his Reichsfurher, Prime Minister David Cameron.

Cameron has adopted the tactic of continually criticising the Welsh National Health Service, He has mentioned it over forty times during PMQ's ( Prime Minister Question Time), in an effort to divert attention from the deteriorating performance of the English National Health Service..

At times the Mail has been printing nothing but scaremongering myths, which have been quickly destroyed by the Labour Health Minister for Wales, Mark Drakeford.

What the Tories cannot deny is that they are not trusted, by the British people, on the NHS and that the majority of British people are fully aware of the Tories objective to privatise the NHS and remove the principle of health care being free for all, at the point of access, irrespective of circumstance.

These attacks by the Mail are nothing more than a smokescreen to hide the Tories poor performance on delivering healthcare to Britain, which is an appalling mess, due to the disastrous top down reorganisation, that the Tories mendaciously said would not happen.

Within this piece of Tory inspired propaganda was yet another abhorrent attack on labour leader Ed Milliband's deceased father. The Mail are happy to trawl any depths for their Tory paymasters.

Of course the Mail is famously rabidly anti-European Union as well, yet Daily Mail editor Dacre, seems to have no difficulty accepting subsidies from the European Union for his 14,000 acre Scottish shooting estate. In 2012 he received 300,408 euros as well as 13,000 euros in Direct Farm Payments. Add into mix, the off shore tax avoidance activities of the owners of the Daily Heil, the Rothermere family, and you have a heady mix of stinking hypocrisy and a clear example that the Chancellor of the Exchequer, George Osbornes' mantra 'we are all in it together' is utter, utter, bull crap.

Time Wasting Tactics?
There is an inquiry into child abuse that should have got underway many months ago which, if carried out impartially, professionally and demonstrates no bias, may possibly blow wide open a scandal that will revolve around 10 Downing Street, the Tory administration of the 1980's and will drag in celebrities, politicians and establishment figures of every hue.

Why hasn't it got underway yet? Well mainly because the Tories keep selecting people to head up the inquiry who are patently unsuitable, so it keeps getting delayed. Suspicious stalling tactics? you may ask. Trying to kick it into the long grass until after the next General Election, perhaps? I think you may have a point.

Prime Minister Refuses to Wear T-shirt.

Prime Minster, Cameron, has refused to take part in a magazine campaign where the main political party leaders take a selfie of themselves wearing a T-shirt that says 'this is what a feminist looks like'. I've got no problem with that. If Cameron hates women, then he hates women. At least he's being honest.

Tory Britain?
A man, who was laying on a hospital bed, hooked up to machines after suffering a severe heart attack received a call from A4E, a work placement firm working on behalf of the government, and told he must attend a work placement or he may lose his benefits. The person ringing was very 'persistent' that he attend.

Nice to know they care, ain't it.

A Freudian slip and the Scum that Bring Shame on Britain.

When the Tory Minister for Welfare let it slip that he thought some people who were disabled were not ‘worth’ the minimum wage ( £6.50 per hour) and that paying £2.00 an hour would be more appropriate, the fact that his name was Lord Freud would have been funny if it wasn't for the toxic message he was sending.

Several reactionary’s jumped to his defence, claiming that he had a point and some people with disabilities were ‘worth’ less and that his attitude certainly did not have a whiff and taint that reminded you of an attitude once held towards the disabled, as well as Jews, gypsies and homosexuals, by a certain European country not more than seventy years ago.

There are claims that the Leader of the Opposition, Ed Miliband, when he raised it at PMQ’s  (Prime Ministers Question Time), was trying to make political capital, when all he was asking was whether the government held a position where they felt disabled people were worth less than able bodied people. Prime Minister Cameron, thrown by the question, assumed his normal response, when caught out, of braying angrily back across the commons like a stereotypical toff scolding one of the estate peasants, and yet again attempted to use his own disabled son as a shield.

Unfortunately, this attitude of Freud’s is not an unusual one in 21st century Britain. There appears to be a growing attitude within society, that disabled people are nothing but spongers and that the blind person or the woman suffering from cerebral palsy are just feigning their disability so they can fraudulently receive disability benefit. There is a sense that people are becoming prejudiced towards anybody who doesn't fit their closed view of normality and are resentful and envious of anybody they consider different. It is an attitude that was faced by Asian migrants coming to this country, Afro-Caribbean migrants, Jewish migrants, Irish migrants, even the Huguenots. In fact anybody viewed as different by the indigenous population.  Yet again the ugly head of the small-minded Brit, always worrying about what other people have got, raises it head above the parapet. No wonder that ‘little Englander’ party UKip (United Kingdom Independence Party) is supposedly getting a handhold in British politics. This is the type of society they would relish, where the strong turn on the weak.

I thought Britain was suppose to be a nation of fairness and progressiveness and that we protected the weak and vulnerable. But it turns out we are a nasty nation of men and women who turn on the defenceless and helpless because we think the pittance they receive, in order to live, is slightly more than we would like and if we paid disabled people less then we could have more. Quite frankly it disgusts me. I am British, I'm proud to be British and proud that I live by values where I believe the weakest in society should be protected because that is right, fair, civilised and humane.

An example of this apparently growing, nasty, mean spirited and revolting attitude occurred in a Tesco supermarket in Swiss Cottage, London, last week. Where a blind person was shouted and screamed at by three members of staff because she came into the store with her guide dog, which was clearly marked by the dogs’ high visibility jacket (feel free to e-mail the company or store, to ask them why their training is crap and that their staff are idiots. I know I will). These vile and foul individuals refused to listen to her, told her to leave, and to never ever come back to the store. The only silver lining to this disgraceful occurrence was that other customers stood up on behalf of the customer and her dog. But what type of horrid and venal human scum do you have to be to shout at a blind woman and her dog and try to evict them from a store? Sadly the lady in question said this was not an isolated incident and that she has experienced several other instances of this particularly unpleasant, cruel and nauseatingly prejudiced attitude since she moved to London. I’m all for building a wall around the M25, to encircle London and keep the misanthropic scum from poisoning the rest of Britain. Perhaps we could put a roof on it as well to contain their stink.

There is anecdotal evidence that taxi and mini-cab drivers refuse to take blind people if they are accompanied by a guide dog as well as  thousands of businesses across the land flouting the laws that apply to guide dogs. Of course there is a simple solution. You hit the transgressors with massive fines or imprisonment.

All people are equal, irrespective of skill levels or intellect. Paying someone £2.00 an hour does not give anyone dignity, it strips them of dignity. We need an inclusive and empowered society where all people are treated with respect. That way people will strive to succeed, which, in turn, will enrich lives, businesses and society. You have to build people up not rip them down.

Of course Lord Freud has previous when it comes to ignorant and disparaging remarks about people in need of welfare when he accused users of food banks as people making a ‘lifestyle choice’ that gave them access to free food. The toxic idiot is obviously unaware about the rules around food banks where a referral from a welfare agency is required and you can only use a food bank twice within a twelve month period. But let’s not be surprised when a Tory ignores the facts in favour of spewing out a piece of noxious, bigoted and ignorant propaganda.

As a final example of this government’s illiterate policy making, I bring you the case of Remploy. This organisation, set up by a previous government, operated factories and workshops that made furniture and other goods. It employed 10,000 employees, who were all disabled.

This government, in the form of Iain Duncan Smith, Works and Pensions Minister, Gods self appointed emissary on earth ,and Lord Freud’s boss, closed Remploy down and made 10,000 disabled employees unemployed, thus stripping them of any dignity they may have had.

NOW HOW STUPID WAS THAT!!

The Great Intern Scam.
Internships are nothing more than slave labour used by businesses to keep costs down and a way of businesses and corporations to abdicate responsibility for the training of staff. Unpaid internships cause massive social division because they deny children of less well off families access to work because of the impossibility of meeting living costs, whereas the children of well off families are able to take advantage of unpaid work because their wealthy parents cover their living costs.

This is particularly the case in London where poorer, but probably more talented children, are unable to get a foothold on the employment ladder, leaving the employment field open  for the less intelligent and dimmer offspring of the better off. This in turn increases social division and restricts social mobility.

It is a disgrace that many politicians take advantage of this free labour and many corporations have a 3 month revolving door of internships ,when at the end of the three months, a batch of new interns turn up to replace the existing interns, who are cast out.

Businesses complain that Universities do not produce work-ready graduates, but that is just another way of saying that businesses can’t be bothered to invest in training new staff and they expect others to bear the responsibility and costs.

Unpaid internships should be made illegal, universities should include internships within their courses, and businesses should be made accountable for training their new staff and paying them at least the minimum wage.

This claim of penury by massive corporations is laughable. You can guarantee that the executives of these so-called cash strapped corporations will all be in receipt of massive salary packages while claiming they cannot afford to pay interns the minimum wage.

Unpaid internships are a con and an example of the ‘something for nothing ‘culture hypocritically practiced by big business on a daily basis. Internships restrict social mobility and contribute to the current social division this Tory government is so keen to create and profit from.

Ban them! Ban them now! They are a con!

Prison Tariffs.
The release from prison of Ched Evans, the footballer who has served two and a half years of a five year sentence for rape, has highlighted a problem within the British justice system.

It is not that he can return to a lucrative career playing football while his victim must spend the rest of her life living with the consequences of his crime. The situation would be the same if it was a plumber or a lawyer. They've served their time and no matter how distasteful it may seem, they have to be allowed to rehabilitate themselves and earn a living.

The problem is with the length of tariffs given to people who have committed violent crimes, and rape is a very violent crime. Five years for committing rape is a pathetic length of time to be given.

The tariff for any violent crime should be at least ten years, with at least 75% of the tariff served in prison. This is the problem with the Evans case, not that he is free to continue his lucrative football career, but that the sentence he was given was not sufficiently long enough for the crime he committed.

Ebola.
An Ebola epidemic will demonstrate the strengths and weaknesses of western health care systems whether they be public or private. I'm glad I live in a country that has a public healthcare system free at the point of access. I wouldn't want to be living in the USA right now.

#Save Kimi Campaign

.Kimi the fox cub

Kimi is a little white fox cub, who, along with thousands of other fox cubs, Burberry, the fashion company, will have butchered soon, so that the fatuous, vacuous, sub human scum they call customers can flaunt their butchered pelts in the name of fashion.

Shooting Themselves in the Foot?
The Tories are hoping to make it illegal to post material, considered offensive, on the internet. Does that mean that we will be unable to read the next Tory manifesto on-line?

The Ukip Blackshirts are on the Ramble.

As this blog is read around the world by people from parts of the world as diverse as China, the USA, Australia, Scandinavia, Eastern Europe and South and South East Asia, I will start the current edition off with a definition of a British Political party that is currently causing a stir because it won a by-election that was the equivalent of taking candy from a baby.

Definition:  UKip, The United Kingdom Independence Party is a populist, xenophobic political party that is anti-immigration and anti-European Union, and has no coherent policies on the economy, education or health care, other than they consider the NHS (National Health Service) an aberration that should be abolished forthwith. It is a party, that if it was in government, would happily withdraw the United Kingdom from the international stage to become the North Korea of the northern hemisphere.

UKip claims to be an anti-establishment party and attempts to distance themselves from the major parties, who they claim are run by out of touch, privately educated, establishment politicians and backed by rich city donors. Fact: Ukip is lead by Nigel Farage, who is the son of a stockbroker, was privately educated at Dulwich College, and before he entered politics he worked in the City of London as a financier. Fact:: The major donors to Ukip are wealthy bankers who previously belonged to or made large donations to the Tory party. It is a party that perpetuates myths and lies and is predominately supported by ignorant inward looking ‘little Englanders' who either lack the facts or wilfully ignore them for the purposes of self interest.

I agree that Westminster politicians are a discredited political elite, currently attempting to ride to victory at the next General Election, on a tidal wave of populism, who are out of touch, backed by self interested wealthy donors, and have ignored the concerns of ordinary people in favour of promoting their own party political ideologue. The point is so are UKip. The only difference being, UKip do not have any Westminster politicians other than the recent winner of the Clacton by-election, Douglas Carswell, who happens to be privately educated with a background in asset management. Although he claims to be a campaigner against corrupt MP expense claims, he has some shady dealings involving his own expense claims ( Loveseat?) that could do with some explanations. So no change there then. Also he once referred to the party he now represents as ‘barking’. UKip are a populist charade whose policies, or what they have of them ,can be destroyed in a second by applying common sense and intellect. Something the majority of UKip supporters appear to be devoid off.

The leader of UKip, Nigel Farage, is cut from the same cloth as Prime Minster David Cameron, Deputy Prime Minster Nick Clegg, as well as hundreds of other MP’s. You can find someone like Farage in the bar of every golf and country club or private members club across the land. He is not unique; people like him have existed in Britain for decades. In fact another one is Boris Johnson, currently Tory Mayor of London.

It is interesting how the so-called two most charismatic politicians in Britain at the moment ( that's the view of the deluded and hyperbolic press and media. Not mine), Farage and Johnson, are given such an easy ride by the predominately right wing media. Neither of them are ever held to account or challenged for the many unsubstantiated, politically inept, or errant and misleading claims they make and both are often allowed, by media commentators and journalists alike, to escape any rigorous or robust interrogation of their policies or views. Both are treated like jovial and hale comic turns who provide a few laughs along the way. The only difference between the two,it appears, is that Farage’s predilections seem to be a decent pint and a cigarette, whereas, it appears, Johnson likes to impregnate women who happen not to be his wife.  Make no mistake, beneath Farage’s and Johnson’s bluff exteriors are two very unpleasant and toxic individuals, who, if given the opportunity, would blight the lives of millions of Britons for decades to come.

Returning to the subject of the Clacton by-election, as well as the by-election held on the same day in Heywood and Middleton. The UKip victory in Clacton and the Ukip performance in Heywood and Middleton  are being held as  potentially political landscape changing events until you study the numbers and the facts. The Clacton win was a simple case of a standing MP changing his name badge and surfing a wave of misinformation and dissembling. An anecdotal example of this was when a journalist asked a Clacton constituent why he voted UKip. The voter replied ‘because of the immigrants’. The journalist then asked the voter how many immigrants he thought lived and worked in the Clacton area. The reply was ‘there must be millions’. Fact: Clacton is 97.7% white. Unless there are thousands of Eastern Europeans in Clacton, that simple, factually accurate statistic, demonstrates the level of ignorance present within the Clacton electorate. This ignorance is happily fed by UKip propaganda as well as a complicit right wing media. If you changed the name of UKip to National Socialists and went back 90 years, to 1930’s Germany, I think you would find the same level of ignorance would be present as well as a similarly self serving and complicit media.

The Heywood and Middleton result is a similar exercise in spin and misrepresentation of any meaningful analysis. Fact: Labour vote in the 2010 General Election 18499. Labour vote in 2014 by-election 11633. Tory vote 2010 General Election 12528 Tory vote 2014 by-election 3496. UKip vote 2010 General Election 1215. Ukip vote 2014 by-election 11016.  Liberal Democrats vote 2010 General Election 10474. Liberal Democrats vote 2014 by-election 1457. Analysis: Tactical voting.Tory and Libdem voters tactically switched their vote to UKip,  leading to the collapse of the sitting coalition government's (Tory/Liberal Democrat) vote. The reduced Labour vote was due to a low turnout, not Labour voters switching their vote to UKip. The turnout will probably be higher for the General Election next year, so expect Labours large majority to be restored. You would expect so-called professional media commentators and journalists to provide an accurate and rational explanation of voting patterns but instead all they could be bothered to do was crank up the hyperbole and misinform the public, many off whom are happy to be spoon fed this bullcrap.

So you see, UKip claim to be an anti-establishment party with the interests of the ordinary man on the street at their heart. They claim to be the antidote to the Westminstercentric old world parties, who are lead by privately educated leaders, and backed by powerful and influential corporate interests and wealthy donors, which is strange, because UKip are also lead by a privately educated leader and are also backed by powerful and influential wealthy donors with corporate interests. UKip are hoping to benefit from an ignorant electorate who are susceptible to fear and scaremongering, and who are either unwilling to source accurate information or would just prefer Britain to be turned into a golf and country club version of the Third Reich, standing isolated off the northern coast of mainland Europe. No influence, no opportunity, no hope and with no chance.

UKip, Tories, Labour, Liberal Democrats. You couldn't slide a cigarette paper between any of them. They are all establishment parties beholden to big business, corporate interests and the wealthy. They have no interests in the 99%, other than to harvest their votes every 4/5 years so they can continue their ideological trashing of Britain to the benefit of a wealthy elite. A pox on all their houses.

There is one difference between UKip and the other establishment parties. The United Kingdom Independence Party are evil and if it were allowed anywhere near the levers of power it would be an absolute disaster for Britain, rather than just the disaster that is currently looming on the horizon.

But I’m no expert; I’m just a man on the street.

The Week In Bits No 7.

' All in it Together' Bull Crap. No 34657.
The Tories brazenly declare that they will make the working poor pay for the deficit created by Tory donors and bankers by freezing tax credits for the low paid while giving tax cuts to the wealthiest in society (Tory donors and bankers). These tax cuts are all unfunded and if they had been made by the opposition would have been described as reckless, irresponsible and a 'con' by the Tories. Double standards?

Respect in Death?
A women outed as a troll by Sky news commits suicide and although now dead is still referred to as a troll, rather than her given name, by major media outlets. Several news outlets cry crocodile tears in a desperate attempt to justify their own activities and double standards and to cover their arses as the realisation of their own, apparently legitimate, trolling activities are brought into the spotlight.

Top Gear Tragedy.
TheTop Gear production teamed are stoned and run out of Argentina because of a license plate on one of the cars being used for filming, that may or may not have been a reference to the 1982 Falklands War between Britain and Argentina. Jeremy Clarkson survived. He, the gerbil and that other one 'bravely' hid under beds in their hotel. They don't like it up 'em. Do they Mr Mainwaring?

Barefaced Lies?
Sacked Education Secretary, Michael Gove, brazenly claims, on a political discussion show, that the Tories are not privatising the National Health Service. His nose grows six inches.

Distasteful?
At the Tory party conference, Prime Minister David Cameron, distastefully invokes the death of his disabled son in an attempt to gain political capital. There are some topics that should respectfully remain private.

Name Calling.
Shadow Education Secretary, Tristram Hunt, calls Prime Minister David Cameron ' a low rent PR man' for accusing him of hypocrisy because he was educated at an independent school. Cameron may be 'low rent' but he is also high maintenance as he has currently cost Britain a National Health Service and a Welfare system and is now trying to remove our human rights.

A Damning Indictment
"WWF International is a willing service provider to the giants of the food and energy sectors, supplying industry with a green, progressive image … On the one hand it protects the forest; on the other it helps corporations lay claim to land not previously in their grasp. WWF helps sell the idea of voluntary resettlement to indigenous peoples,"

A damning indictment of the largest conservation charity, WWF International, and their links with major corporations such as Coco-Cola, Shell, Monsanto, British Petroleum, HSBC and Cargill in Wilfried Huismann's forthcoming book Pandaleaks.

Impartial?
For the first time in almost three years the Tories have a lead in the polls. The right wing press are crowing about the forthcoming election victory for the Tories. Unfortunately they conveniently forget to mention that it is only one poll result and that all other polls still show a healthy lead for Labour. They also conveniently forget to mention that the poll in question is a Yougov poll. The founder of Yougov is Nadim Zahawi, currently Tory MP for Stratford on Avon and, as a bit of added colour, was caught charging the taxpayer £5822 for heating the stables on his 31 acre £1 million home. All in it together are we Mr Zahawi?

Tuition Fees.
Germany abolishes all tuition fee's. Britain increases tuition fee's to £9000. Oh dear coalition government, oh dear. Germany leads the way again.

It's the new political correctness gone mad.
From now on it is no longer de rigueur to shout "it's political correctness gone mad" when you think the world is disappearing into a PC/ liberal morass. Now you must scream ' it's bloody human rights, that's what it is that's got us in this state ', preferably in a mockney accent last used in 1950's black and white films, when you feel another human being is being treated with courtesy and respect and you find it downright annoying. It's the law now.

Scum!!!!!

Yesterday, at the Tory party conference, The Chancellor of the Exchequer, George Osborne, a man who in his younger days  was photographed with a dominatrix and an amount of white powder and also made £40000 profit on a taxpayer funded house, and the Minister for the Department of Work and Pensions, Iain Duncan Smith, who has wasted £600m in taxpayers money on his Universal Credit benefit system which has now been reset to zero, and lied on his CV about attending the University of Perugia, he didn't, he went to Perugia language school,  stood up and made the same speech.

It was as follows:

" conference, people of the shires, ladies of the Womens Institute, red faced denizens of the golf and country clubs, friends from the Countryside Alliance. I have found new ways of kicking the poor and vulnerable, I bring you new ways in which we can treat the working poor as the scum I know everyone in this hall believes them to be. We, the Tory party, have developed new policies that will strip people of their dignity and stigmatise and demonise the working class. Something I know that everyone, here at conference, delights in doing.

The conference attendees brayed and cheered like grinning goons, relishing the thought of poor children being plunged into poverty. Prime Minister David Cameron crossed his legs and covered his groin with his hands in an effort to hide his erection.

The speech continued:

" Conference, if the British electorate are as stupid as we think they are and they continue to believe this never ending stream of warm diarrhea and lies we spoon feed them, about cutting the deficit (currently £50bn off target) and 'how we are all in it together', and that all the ills of this country are down to the Labour party and the poor, and we get re-elected, we will introduce new policies that will punish the scum poor even more and drive them to the point of desperation where suicide will hopefully be their only choice while making the wealthier, that's you and me conference, even wealthier, and then conference,.... our job will be done...... All the poor will be dead! All dead! All dead conference!!!!!....... Hurrah! Hurrah! Hurrah!

Conference gives a standing ovation while Prime Minister David Cameron ejaculates in his pants.

Reader, I give you the nasty Tories. red in tooth and claw.

Forgetting things.
If the leader of the Labour party, Ed Miliband, doesn't care about the economy, because he forgot it in his Labour party conference speech, does that mean that Prime Minister David Cameron doesn't care about his 8yr old daughter because he forgot about her and left her in a pub. Just saying.

This is the end. the end my friend. Is it though?

Last Friday I watched a beautiful shimmering butterfly try to break free of it rotting pupa and flutter towards the warm welcoming sun only to be crushed by the jackbooted  middle class and their never ending quest to protect their own self interests to the detriment of  progressiveness. It was a sad, dispiriting affair and nearly brought me to tears. The last time politics has affected me in that manner was when Ted Heath's Conservatives defeated the Labour party of Harold Wilson in 1970. I was eleven at the time.

The grassroots campaigners, on both sides, can hold their heads up with pride. They were part of a campaign full of passion that restored many people's faith in politics and engaged  people who had been apathetic and disinterested in politics for years. Particularly inspirational was the involvement of 16yr old and 17yr old voters who not only engaged wholeheartedly with the process but were knowledgeable and articulate. Surely the voting age for General Elections must be reduced to 16 after the positive example demonstrated by the young voters of Scotland ( no taxation without representation?).

It is, and was, a different story for the so-called campaign leaders. They failed everyone abysmally. I have already been critical of both Yes and No campaigns but I am afraid I will be again because they all need to be held accountable. Alec Salmond, Nicola Sturgeon and other nationalist grandees were evasive, fact light and relied to heavily on portraying the No campaign as a bunch of Westminster elites whose ancestors had probably had direct involvement in The Glencoe massacre and The Highland Clearances. Add in to that the currency debacle and the lack of any cogent economic plan that didn't involve tying itself to the Bank of England, therefore abdicating all responsibility for interests rates, mortgage rates and lending, and you have a recipe for disaster when trying to convert the rural rich and the comfortable middle classes of the shires and islands.

It was obvious that support for independence lay mainly in the disadvantaged urban poor, the working class, and the idealistic young. This demographic were already converted. The task of the Yes campaign was to present an argument that would persuade the middle classes that independence was a good thing and that independence would not bring socialist hordes invading their comfortable homes, throwing them onto a rickety cart and dragging them off to the guillotine. The problem was, they were preaching to a congregation that was looking for any excuse to vote no. Hence the reason why a watertight economic plan was so important. It wasn't, it was a disaster, so the excuse was provided. That mistake must be laid at the feet of Alec Salmond, and ultimately, he accepted responsibility for it by resigning.

The No campaigner leaders were horribly incompetent. From the sleepwalking Prime Minister who was scared rigid of even setting foot in the country because he realised how toxic he and his party is. I may be wrong but I would not be surprised if The Chancellor of the Exchequer, George Osborne, was manacled, bound and held in a cellar for the last month of the campaign because even a picture of him, in the press, could produce a 10 point swing towards the Yes campaign and Alistair Darling demonstrated as much charisma and dynamism as a dishcloth. In a way, considering the pathetic leadership of Cameron and his ilk it is amazing we got the result we did.The only man who came out with his character enhanced was ex- Prime Minster Gordon Brown whose barnstorming speech on the eve of the vote seemed to stem the oncoming tide of the Yes vote, which was threatening to engulf the No campaign.

Other negative aspects of the campaign involved  the ever present 'shouty' cybernats, and I include the hecklers and egg throwers in that group, who worked on the principle of, if someone said anything they disagreed with they called them a traitor or just shouted and screamed at them to drown out any counter argument or, even more shamefully, they attempted to physically intimidate people in a manner that would not have looked out of place in Putin's Russia. In fact Alec Salmond's 'Putinesque' control of the civil service, academics and business had a totalitarian whiff of authoritarianism to it that felt extremely uncomfortable to many democrats. Also the Unionist led rioting in Georges Square, Glasgow was disappointing and sad to see as intimidation and harassment was not only the preserve of the Yes campaign. Both sides must accept a degree of responsibility for allowing fascist election techniques to creep in, taint and infect the process. SNP leader, Jim Sillers didn't do himself any favours by threatening businesses with a 'day of reckoning' if they continued to voice their support for the No vote

.The 'celebs'on both sides were particularly annoying but special mention must be made of the 'celebs' who signed the letter in favour of the No campaign. A group that included Dan Snow, the son-in-law of the richest man in Britain, and others whose tax arrangements could not be called patriotic. I mean, if you really care what some vacuous 'celeb' thinks and you allow it to colour your thinking on the future of your country then you really are a bloody idiot. Not particularly appetising was the courting, by the Yes campaign, of writers, actors, comics and musicians who perhaps saw an opportunity to increase their revenue streams by adopting a compliant unchallenging and nationalistic stance whilst wrapping themselves in the Saltire for the purposes of marketing.

Thursday was a sad day for hope and a good day for middle and upper class self interest, but I have a silver lining for the Yes voters. Within ten years another independence referendum will be held and within the next ten years your country will be independent. So cheer up. Your day is coming. It's not the end.

'The Vow'
As they panicked, the leaders of the pro-unionist parties, Cameron, Miliband and that Clegg fellow made an 11th hour vow that if a No vote prevailed they would devolve more powers to the Scottish parliament. Subsequently Cameron has attempted to renege on the deal by attaching conditions to the vow which involve stopping Scottish MP's voting on issues that only affect England. This is a disgusting example of political opportunism that is no more than an attempt by those two 21st century snake oil salesmen, Cameron and Osborne, to carve out an English fiefdom for themselves that they will no doubt run from a cave complex built underneath the South Downs. One thing is certain from the aftermath of last weeks referendum and that is that the Tory party do not give a toss what the Scots, the Welsh or even the Northern Irish think now. They know that all three countries are lost to them politically so their aim is to control the UK from London and the South East because it is the only area of the UK that doesn't consider the Tories to be evil, self serving and toxic. They are just a couple of evil malodorous clowns. You think politicians cannot sink any lower and then...........

Minimum Wage.
Labour leader, Ed Miliband,  promises to raise the minimum wage and  howls of complaint immediately and predictably rise up from the business community. He has promised to increase it to £8.00 per hour (wow) by 2019. As I have previously said, any business who pays the minimum wage is saying to their employees "if I could pay you less and get away with it I would". Business owners complain that increasing the minimum wage is bad for business and may lead to job losses. Bollox, utter bollox.
Increasing the minimum wage will reduce the welfare bill because at the moment poor wages are bolstered by the recipients having to claim Working Tax Credits, Housing Benefit and Child Tax Credits in order to afford the cost of living. These benefits subsidise businesses who instead of paying a living wage are allowed to abdicate their responsibility towards their employees, leaving the tax payer to pick up the slack in the form of said benefits while businesses pocket the difference making some of them and their shareholders very wealthy.
Miliband is right. He should increase the minimum wage thus making businesses and corporations responsible for improving living conditions and not the tax payer. Some business people claim they cannot afford to pay the minimum wage. More bollox. If they cannot afford it they are obviously crap at business. Look at the cars parked in any Head Office car park, especially those closest to the entrance, you'll see some mighty fine top of the range models. It's not that they can't pay it, it's simply that they do not want to pay it. They'd rather spend it on expense accounts, nice cars, and shareholder premiums.
