I am not sure who I find more detestable, the grotesques who are trying to portray themselves as politicians or the intellectual simpletons that blindly follow them, even though a simple question about any of UKIP's policies brings a dead-eyed vacant response that invariably ends with some vacuous mumbling about immigrants.
What I find risible is UKIP's attempt to portray itself as the party of the people.Nigel Farage, the current leader of UKIP, and so-called 'man of the people' stands in a pub, drinking a pint and smoking a fag and the simpletons fall about marvelling at, well someone drinking a pint while smoking a fag, as if he had just split the bloody atom or found a cure for cancer. They seem to conveniently ignore or are blindly unaware that UKIP is a party backed by big business and wealthy individuals, just like the mainstream parties, and it is lead by a public schoolboy who worked in the city and who is a dyed in the wool, old school, Home Counties Tory. A member of the same corporate and establishment cronyism, UKIP is supposed to be railing against.
Some Ukip Donors. ( not exactly a list of butchers, bakers and candlestick makers).

What is truly objectionable is the way the mainstream media has willingly fallen for the UKIP shtick, the BBC (British Broadcasting Corporation) being one of the main cheerleaders. You can understand why the right wing press would constantly champion UKIP. After all UKIP are just saying things the right wing press covertly agree with, but know that they would be unable to overtly support. Hence any story about UKIP's crazy anti-Europe rhetoric, or its never ending vileness about migrants or any misogynistic or homophobic bile it might spew, gets heavy coverage with a veneer of overt disapproval from the right wing tabloids. But covertly, they are complicit and gleefully agree with most of what has been spouted by whatever UKIP cockspawn yeehaa spouted it. What the media refuses to do is to seriously and robustly challenge UKIP on any of their policies. Some of which are incredibly objectionable and deeply misogynistic.
The policies are deeply misanthropic and demonstrate a level of hatred that even surpasses the Tory party in their vindictiveness and repulsiveness. But when you consider that UKIP is a turbo-Tory, Thatcherite party, which, if giving the opportunity, would gleefully carry on Thatcher's legacy of destroying society in favour of corporate Britain while making the rich richer and the poor much poorer, then the surprise that they are a party of hatemongers is minuscule.
Lets put aside the anti-Europe/immigrant rhetoric, we get it. UKIP hates foreigners and hates the European Union although this hatred doesn't stop their MEP's ( Member of the European Parliament) from leaping on the same gravy train, they constantly criticise, and fill their boots with massive expense claims. Farage himself was investigated for claiming £15,000 a year in office running costs when it came to light that he pays no rent on the property and according to a former manager of the office, bills and non-rental costs come to no more than £3,000 per annum. Another UKIP MEP, Trevor Coleman, admitted he went to Brussels to claim the £200,000 in allowances and he had only taken part in half of the votes since 2009. Sounds familiar doesn't it?
Lets concentrate on domestic UKIP policy or what passes for it.
- Scrapping Maternity pay.
- Raising Income Tax for the poor.
- Introducing a flat rate of tax for rich and poor.
- Privatising the National Health Service.
- Scrapping Inheritance Tax.
- Repealing the smoking ban
- Abolishing the Dept of Culture, Media and Sport.
- Abolish laws to protect human rights.
- Scrapping all holiday entitlement.
- Scrapping all current laws that prevent racist, homophobic or misogynistic abuse. They claim it suppresses freedom of speech. ( further down in this piece I mention Farage complaining about left wing comics exercising their right to freedom of speech and making jokes at UKIP's expense. It would appear UKIP believe only a chosen few should be allowed to exercise this right. Hypocrisy?)
- Making rape legal within marriage.
- Abandoning all actions to fight climate change.
- No house building on green belt land.
- Making it legal to discriminate on the basis of gender.
- Passing legislation that would allow a women who falls pregnant whilst in employment, to be dismissed.
The hype around the recent by-election victories is a classic example of the media enjoying the carnival but ignoring the facts. The two MP's, Mark Reckless and Douglas Carswell, are just Tory retreads as well as both being privileged ex-public schoolboys. They were sitting MP's who just changed party. The people who voted for them were not voting to change the government. Nor were they were deciding who should be Prime Minister or deciding or rejecting a manifesto. They did not vote for change at all, they voted for the status quo.
As mentioned earlier in this piece, the only lighthearted moment recently, in this seemingly never ending grotesque cavalcade of stupidity and evil, was when Farage claimed victim hood because he was annoyed that left wing comics were ganging up on UKIP in panel shows. This was backed up by an obviously bitter and relatively unknown right wing comedian called Andrew Lawrence. For a white, middle class, public school educated, ex-city dealer from the home counties to claim victim hood, it really is beyond parody.
There is no doubt that our political system has become stale, establishment driven and our representatives rarely step out of their Westminster bubble. But if you want change, choosing UKIP is like deciding you are tired of coffee, so for a change you decide to have a cup of coffee but in a mug instead of a cup. There is no change.
UKIP are a party of foreigner hating, women hating, former extreme right wing Tory's who hark back to a time that never existed for the majority of Britons. A time of deference and forelock tugging, where everyone knew their place, especially women, and the globe was still two thirds pink.
That's not change.
Talking of Misogynists.
A recent Mail on-line story about the alleged murders by a banker in Hong Kong, filed by four male reporters.

Apparently it was his ex-girlfriends fault?
The good old Daily Heil. Nice how they've capitalised the word CHEATED! They never let you down. Do they.
